The absolute best way in the world to do this is to see if you can get your
hands on a copy of Oswego Software's HP File Copy 3.8. It transfers just
about any LIF file format to PC and back, and as far as I know it's the only
one that does BDAT files with a minimum of fuss.
Unfortunately OSI and all it's software is now in the hands of a bankruptcy
court, but you can probably find a copy for sale somewhere. Even if it only
runs in demo mode let me know. Though I didn't write it, I worked there for
several years and know it inside out and I'm well versed at doing these
sorts of transfers.
Ahem. Also, I may say that we at Testech (who are Oswego Software, Inc. sans
the fat) will be most pleased to advise you on possibly moving to Basic for
Windows.

I couldn't find the "HP BASIC Reflector", so I thought some of you VRF-ers
might be able to go back in time and help me out. I support an old test
set used in production that runs HP BASIC 6.4 WS. The test data is stored
on the system HDD, but I have not been able to read it. I have heard of
the LIF2DOS and LIF.EXE utilities to convert the files into something that
is PC readable. Does anyone have a working link to these files and some
experience with how the conversion works?
