Hi,

I also agree's with all of you about VEE's future and Agilent not
aggressive for Pushing out
their product to Market as Labview.
And if you tell 100 times the same story ,it likes to be true and
where NI is ahead of Agilent.
NI had introduced from Universities  in syllabus here and student knows
Lab view right from
begining. Now with group of users in India ,I would like to contribute
VEE at University level.
In India you all will surprise , only few peoples use VEE (less than
10).Such a big country and
and lots of experts in software.
And it is very difficult to   find out opportunities for VEE in India.

Also not finding VEE promotion in India except once a day seminar
from Agilent & found NI telling
Agilent does not have plans to support it  and found which is not true.
My suggestion for Agilent is to get introduced VEE from College
/University stage with active
promotion which even does not cause much money to Agient except
distributing Evalution CD with
standard drivers. Where student can design with Microcontrollers and for
GUI use excellent
VEE software.

Another solution for promotion is for publishing simple applications
notes to attract peoples in different fileds.

I just went to a meeting with a new customer. They want us to design their
next generation Test System for some of their product lines. They have
quite a few 19" racks chock full of gear that they need to retrofit/modify
to test a new product design. This is a fairly long-term project, and will
employ several of our engineers full time.

The customer currently has a VEE program, and some C apps that they use to
test their products. We met with 4 of the customer engineers. When we
reviewed the preliminary design, the customers made it clear that they
intended to go forward with LabView as the test platform for this new
design.

I just HAD to ask why they chose LabView, and here is what they said:

1. "We are moving away from VEE. There is little to no support, and it is
hard to find people that are experienced with VEE"
2. "We can find Engineers that have LabView experience quite readily"
3. "Agilent does not seem to support VEE very well at all"

Well -- it has finally happened ! It looks like I am going to take a crew
of our engineers to LabView training, and we are going to launch our
development efforts for this project using NI LabView. I am going to train
on the Labview product, and then take a group to training early next month.

I am done with VEE ? I don't know - but I am not happy to hear people say
they are "moving away from VEE". This is the second time that this has
happened in two years. The exception this time is that we won this project,
even though we do not have a lot of LabView experience and we lost the last
project because of that fact.

I will keep you posted...
