The GPIB card in your old pcmust remain configured as the Controller. There can be only one controller onthe bus; all other devices are talkers and listeners. When you attach your newcomputer, the GPIB card must first be configured as talker/listener. You dothat during your initial setup of the card in software, one of the settings youare asked to configure is “board is system controller”, enter“NO” in this location. What this does is when your new computerwants to send a command to another piece of equipment on the buss, it must askpermission of the old computer (controller), it does this automatically and without your intervention. You can do this with multiple computers, as long as onlyone is controller, you can send commands and transfer data from any device toany device, computer or instrument. Hope this helps</span></font></p><p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 color=navy face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:navy'> </span></font></p><p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 color=navy face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:navy'>Doug Cote</span></font></p><p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 color=navy face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:navy'> </span></font></p><p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 color=navy face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:navy'> </span></font></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'><font size=2 face=Tahoma><spanstyle='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Tahoma'>-----Original Message-----
