Even the little one-boxer that does the work in my example probably should be put into a UF so it can be called from multiple places but maintained only in one place.

For example, this code will fail if the input number >= 256*26. To fix that you might want to add a third digit & character TD & TC so you can generate AAA, AAB, etc, or maybe fire an error pin. You might even rewrite completely to generalize the number of characters it can handle. If it's in a UF, it becomes relatively easy to change and maintain. If it were scattered through your application as formulas or UOs, these changes would be harder to locate and coordinate without error.

End of sermon.

> -----Original Message-----
> From: Baranski, Detlef [mailto:Detlef.Baranski@PILKINGTON.de]
> Sent: Thursday, April 08, 2004 8:34 AM
>
> Does someone has a nice functions in Vee availble to
> transform the numbers
> 1-256 into Excel - Cell formats A,B,C ...AA,AB, AC etc. ?
> And maybe vice
> versa ?
>
> Or is there an excel function to do so ?
>
> Thanks for any help,
> detlef

---
You are currently subscribed to vrf as: rsb@soco.agilent.com
To subscribe send a blank email to "join-vrf@it.lists.it.agilent.com".
To unsubscribe send a blank email to "leave-vrf@it.lists.it.agilent.com".
To send messages to this mailing list, email "vrf@agilent.com".
If you need help with the mailing list send a message to "owner-vrf@it.lists.it.agilent.com".
