vrf Something did go out Sat night...

Question asked by kirk_reed on May 9, 2004
Ok, Looking into more email, my exchange server did catch something, but
not sure where it went out from.

Here are the details, read on if interested, if not then delete this
message.

I also got six emails from other exchange servers on the VRF list saying
there was an infected file from me.  I will run a scan again to look for
anything as of this morning.

Nuf said.

Dear Chris and Mike Groves,

It must have been spoofed.  My Outlook was running this weekend, but no
emails were sent by it on Saturday.  I looked in the "Sent" folder, and
nothing was there for the weekend.

I don't always read my VRF, but I just happened to look at this subject
series.  Good thing so I could reply to you.

We did have Sasser virus here last week, but I cleaned it up on this
machine either Monday or Tuesday.  It started rebooting about 25% of our
computers here at this site and a sister division 3000 miles away.
Symantec caught it before it ran, and it just did the reboots.

Hope this helps,

FYI
I have just received this email from VRF. Maybe you are sending out
virus
emails?
There was an attachment which Norton anti virus software stripped off,
so it
didn't cause me any problems
