vrf New User - Separating Measurement/Logging and Display Tasks

Question asked by VRFuser on Jun 27, 2004
Hi,

I'm currently writing a program that reads an analogue signal from an A/D
USB personal measurement device, displays the data, performs peak detection
and maintains a peak count.

I have a few objects from the program linked to a panel including a strip
chart.

When I touch the panel for example to change the scale on the strip chard
the whole program stops.

I've tried making a measurement thread and a display thread linked via
global data, but both threads appear to stop, whether or not they contain
objects linked to the panel.

Question: Why are all threads stopped when clicking on the panel? Is it
possible to make a background task/thread which continues in the background
whatever happens on the panel?
