vrf private emails to Nic & Scott

Question asked by VRFuser on May 5, 2004
Hello vrf,

Many of you send us private emails about VEE-related topics, not posted on the vrf, which we enjoy receiving and which are usually useful. Please don't stop sending them, but remember, actual support requests need to go through the Contact Centers or other designated contacts you can find at < >.

However you need to understand that emails you send to us about VEE are considered to be Agilent business-related, and we assume the right to share these messges with other appropriate Agilent employees unless you specifically request that we not do so. We will of course not share private emails with the vrf or outside Agilent, as it is obvious that you would have posted them to vrf if you had wanted them to be public.

We may choose to use the gist of your emails as anonymous "anecdotes" inside Agilent, on the vrf, or elsewhere. Your name and affiliations will not be given to non-Agilent people, and will not be given to anyone at all if your request privacy. However if you do send us an email, you must expect that we may use it in anonymous anecdotes.

In summary:

- private emails to Nic or Scott about VEE-related issues (not support requests) are welcome.

- if you choose to send us private emails and don't want them shared inside Agilent (they'll never go outside Agilent in any case), please specify that in the email. Otherwise we will assume the right to share and discuss them internally as legitimate VEE business issues.

- we will never share emails for which you request privacy with anyone, inside or outside Agilent.

- we may choose to use the situation you describe in the email as an anonymous anecdote inside or outside Agilent, in which case your name and affiliations will not be be given. If you don't want it possibly used this way, please don't send it, because it won't be useful to anyone.

Sorry to keep having to set up "rules" like this, but with the large number of vrf members there are numerous possibilities for misunderstanding otherwise.

Best Regards,
