I use E4443A spectrum analyzer.If you have any GPIB card it is a good idea to check that your device respondsto *IDN?. The second idea how to check connection between PC and you  E4402Bis using Agilent VISA assistance software. I hope that you have already configedAgilent I/O library TCPIP interface. In that case you are able to add directlyyour instrument in TCPIP lan client windows. After that you will see yourinstrument in Agilent VISA assistance program.
