If you mean directly from the instrument- sure. But be careful as
it can be messy to talk to a single instrument from two programs.
Be very sure that only one is communicating at a time. In this case
the presence of VB would be irrelevant.

If you mean that you want to communicate with the VB program, then
again- sure. That is , assuming that the VB program was written
to be communicated with. If not you need to modify the program
to allow an external call- probably COM.
