vrf Run time installation

Question asked by VRFuser on Aug 18, 2004
I built a windows install package using a VS deployment project, pretty much
all automatic once you pay Bill.  Essentially, the Form calls a VXE and uses
SYSTEM.DIAGNOSTIC.PROCESS calls.  Also the code for the form checks to see
if VEE RUNTIME is installed, if not, when the user runs the vxe, the runtime
is installed. (chose to load when called cause som'n could hap 'tween start
and run, who knows.  Don't want a sour face when the button is pushed.)

Anyway, my programming environment includes Visual Studio and all the needed
plug-ins, VEE, COM, ADO, etc.  Since programming in the Windows environment,
must obey Bill Gates; I use whatever is available from WINDOWS.  Now my job
is much, much, easier and Bill Gates is richer for it.

Subject: [vrf] Run time installation

I have developed a Vee Pro application that I would like to distribute to a
number of users. To install it on a users computer requires installing Vee
Pro run time, configuring IO, copying files, and then making a desk top
shortcut. This is a time consuming process that I would like to automate by
making an installation CD. Is this possible given that Vee Run time is
already installed via a windows installer application? Any one have any
thoughts/experience that might help me out?

Thanks!
