vrf colormaps

Hi Richard,

Check out Matlab's 'pcolor' or 'image' functions - also you can use the
built-in colormaps (e.g. 'cool', 'jet', 'copper' etc), or use your own....

I think there is a very good example in the Matlab 'demo' section of VEE
(plotting of 3D graphs).  If you have trouble finding this let me know - I
have re-written this all in VEE for demo purposes and would be happy to send
you the file.

I need to generate a color map, displaying a parameter measured on an x-y
grid by bucketizing the parameter values into ranges and mapping each
bucket to a color.  I used the matlab surfl function to do this in the
past, rotating the graph that in top down view you see only the colors.  Is
there a better way to do this?  Does anyone have an example?  Or know of a
commercial package that does this kind of graph and intercaces to vee?
