vrf Excel from Vee

Question asked by VRFuser on Nov 15, 2004
David,

This will work.  I did this before.  There are 2 things you need to do.
1.  Uncheck the debug feature in VEE setting or configuration.
2.  Then, you need to delete all Excel variables... like worksheet, sheet
and Excel application.  I do not know the exact one. But, I think the Excel
application variable must be delete at the end of your test or subroutine.
If you do this right, then the Excel.exe in the task will get delete.

Chao,

Han

Hi,
Yes, it does look as if the Excel.exe task remains running invisibly.  This
shows me something about why it happens.  However, I don't know how to fix
it from Vee.  It's not causing me a problem right now.

Thankyou

David,

Did you tried to delete the Excel in the Task Manager?
Then, Open the Excel Spreadsheet.

Han

Hi,
I am creating an Excel object using 'GetObject', and everything works fine
- I can run VBA routines, read & write to cells etc.  However, after I
finish & exit from Vee, I can open the same Excel spreadsheet in Excel, and
when I look in the VBA editor, there are two copies of the spreadsheet
open.  If I run the 'GetObject' several times in Vee (and then exit), I get
a corresponding number of copies in Excel.  What on earth is going on here?
Why are the objects not being deleted after I exit from Vee?  I have tried
obj.close(0), and deleting the obj variable - it makes no difference.

Regards

David Watling
