Hello from Gregg C Levine
I agree. I've got three of those here. And each time I click them,
that's what I get.
Rufus can you resend everything without that peculiar encryption
attached? I find it most annoying. Especially since at the bottom of
each message I see inside webmail a comment that the actual one wasn't
allowed. I strongly disagree with the IT weeny that insists on using
them. He, or it, hasn't the foggiest of notion of why they should be
used.

Subject: [vrf] RE: ADO Data Control 6.0 status
The compatibility status remark does not make a lot of sense. VEE is very
friendly as a Windows APP, and as far as I know, all window's app can
communicate with any loaded MS software. From what I can tell, the ADO are
fair game but you'll need a database somewhere, either a database server or
something like MS Access. But I think any compatible freeware will also
work.
Anyway, I use the DAO Engine and Access and have had no problems. There's
some confusion as to what to use in Windows, seems Windows has taken a turn
as to how it deploys its database control objects. So when you pick an
object, I've found it best to stay with one object since each treats the
data objects differently.
Now, for the last bit of confusion, I use DAO since there is an AGILENT
example. Also, when I open a database and then a recordset, I load my
variables directly from the database, or write them directly to the data
base, then close all. This will not be a good idea if you spend a lot of
time with the database open. You will want to use the dataset objects,
which I think are part of the .NET family.
So, this is my way of not being very helpful.

Subject: [vrf] ADO Data Control 6.0 status
Hi VRF,
Anyone knows VEE's compatibility status of ADO Data Control 6.0?
VEE Help says:
VEE does not support all ActiveX Controls. If a control is incompatible with
VEE, an error will probably occur when you add the control to your program
or while you are using it.
At the time VEE 7.0 was released, the following ActiveX Controls were known
to not work well with VEE and should be avoided:
