I tried Remi's simple program on a 9000/755 running hpux 9.03 and a 9000/715
running hpux 9.07 and sure enough it did hang after a while when animate was
ON.  I only ran it a few times and it fail between 200 and 2700 iterations.
I am also running VEE 3.12.

However, I have never seen VEE 3.12 hang when animate is OFF and I am running
programs as large as 50 Mbytes with hundreds of loops for several days at a
time.
