Hi People
I'm running VEE 3.12 in Win 3.11 on a 133Mhz Pentium PC.
I seem to remember some discussion a few months back about compiled
( ie *lean & fast* ) function libraries.
Can I ask the good HP-VEE people what the schedule is on this
capability?
I've seen some mention of people having huge libraries compared to my
modest 2 Meg total, but regardless of the platform, smaller is better.
As an interim measure, is there any utilities out there for stripping
a function library of all it's comments, open view data and
non-functional 'widgets' so that it might take up less memory and take
less time to load?
Thanks in advance
Regards to all

I have some answers to your questions but if you would be so kind, I have a
question for you: are you using an HPIB card in such a fast machine? If so,
what manufacturer and model, and has it worked reliably?
In fact, I should probably do a survey on this: would other reflector members
be so good as to provide me with the same information? We have had mysterious
problems with some cards that were never duplicated ... it would be nice to get
a "control" sampling to compare to.

Hmm? Sounds like you mean compiled C libraries, which have been supported
since day 1. (Warning, you need to be a good C programmer to do them ...
we can tell you how VEE works but once we get into trying to help get a
C compiler to work we end up going through an agonizing cycle of
trial-and-error.)

This might also refer to speed improvements that the lab is considering for
VEE futures, but we don't have schedules or details that we can release, or
even that they will actually come to pass.

Not here but some customer may have something ...
