Merry Christmas to everyone.
An easy VEE-VXI question. I'm new to this kind of programming.
How do I perform the *TST? on a subinstrument?
I wish to perform the selftest on all cards in my instrument.
I have defined an instrument, for example:
DMM_INST: HP E1412A DMM at LAD 24, and HP E1460A's at 25, 26, and 27.
I know how to send the *TST? to the DMM at primary address 3 (3=24/8),
700903
but not to the subinstruments.
Thanks for your help.

I'm not positive if there's an easier way, but one method you could try
is to manually configure subaddresses for the E1460As at 25, 26, and 27.
The VXI slot 0 controllers we use (HP E1406A Command Modules) allow you
to manually configure instrument subaddresses to the individual
instrument logical addresses. The default configuration is
(logical_address/8), as you have noted. However, these can be
overridden with commands to the controller. I can't find the manuals
for our cards, but the commands in question are something like SADDR or
SADDRL.
Hope this helps!
