Cypress is advertising a $99(US) USB microcontroller evaluation board with
a small prototyping area that we would like to use with HPVEE. Do USB
interfaces on PCs respond to peekpoke commands, or do they require some
nasty device driver protocol stack?
If they require something besides peekpoke, I'd like to submit this
capability as an enhancement to VEE, even if it is a compiled userfunction
like peekpoke that the user can continue development on. I understand that
National Instruments has been active in this area.
By the way, more info is available from Cypress at www.cypress.com/usb

I expect that we will eventually have SICL drivers for USB, which would
allow (in principle at least, ignoring configuration issues) VEE to
access
USB.
This isn't in progress now but USB is far from being ignored at this
site.
Bear with us, please.
