Fwd: Epoch time conversions

Question asked by VRFuser on Jun 28, 2000
Thanks for your assistance;

Epoch time is the time in seconds from 01 Jan, 0001.  I use an
'semi-automatic' file creation routine to tag test data files for system,
test, lot, etc...  It is automatic except for tagging the 2 digit hour code.

Using the Now() and Date/Time functions reads the epoch time as a 13 digit
number.  Displaying it as a time stamp is simple, as referenced in another
response, and fine for alphanumeric display.

I need to strip off the 2 digit hour code; the data appears to always flow
as the 13 digit code.  I have used string conversions, parsing, etc. in
other applications.  Converting the 13 digit number directly to a string
doesn't solve this problem.  I have attempted several formulae to count up
from an arbitrary, fixed reference, but they all seem to eventually have a
rollover problem, creating an inaccuracy.  I am sure that there are formulae
available for the hour converson and would appreciate direction to,
references for them.
