Unfortunately, we have some low resolution data of IDvsVD that we must extract a derivative from. What math technique would you recommend that would allow a possible derivative?

I would consider using the IC-CAP derivative() as described in the following support document:

Also, if your data that you want to apply the math/derivative function on comes from data external to IC-CAP, you will want to pay attention to the following support note:
"ICCap.464 : IC-CAP "derivative()" PEL Function Does Not Work On Data Referenced Or Imported From Outside Defined Iccap Setup Unless You Define Appropriate Input/Outputs To Match Size/Dimension Of "derivative" Function's Input Data ...":
