vrf HPVee RS232 and WinNT vs Win95

Question asked by VRFuser on Feb 1, 2000
Yes, on both NT and 95.
One big problem is when you use Control inputs on the Direct I/O boxes for
the serial I/O. Hitting any Control pin will cause a flush causing you to
loose anything that was already in there.

Subject: vrf HPVee RS232 and WinNT vs Win95

Has anyone experienced problems with Win95 RS232 missing incoming data?
I have a program that works fine in WINNT 4.0, which sends a text string
out to an instrument via RS232 and waits via DAV on Serial@1 until data
has arrived, then empties the serial input buffer. When I load the
same program on a WIN95 PC, the DAV may or may not ever "see" data come
in and if it does, quite a bit of the returned string is missing.

Thanks,
Nancy Moreyra
