One of my Instruments Generates Ascii Data . How to Covert it as Decimal in HP VEE PRO 9.3
use :asReal32(x) or asReal64(x) function
Maybe, maybe not. The fundamental answer to Suresh's question is that there's not enough information to determine how to proceed. It all depends upon what the instrument's ASCII data looks like. It could be a real value such as 1.234 in which case asReal32 would indeed work. Or it could be almost anything else such as a binblock, a complex array, a 2D real array, etc. Don't forget, values of any type/shape/size can be given in ASCII.
Of course, the "conversion" could be done directly in a READ transaction rather than later on after reading a string, but that's another story.
SURESH: if you could provide an example of said instrument's output then a precise answer would likely be forthcoming.
